All of our in-person programs utilize this online curriculum to prepare students for hands-on skills training in an effort to minimize classroom lecture time and maximize experiential education. We host this content on Teachable’s online learning platform, which makes for a convenient student experience. Learn on your time, wherever you like. And if you’re intrigued by what you learn and would like to take an in-person course, you can apply the cost ($149) as a credit to any of our programs.

    Assessment, compressions, airway, breathing, AEDs, child/infant CPR, choking, and drowning. Additionally, we apply these principles to common wilderness situations, such as patients who have experienced hypothermia, an avalanche, drowning, or lightning strike.

    Patient Assessment

    The patient assessment system is a vital concept for all pre-hospital emergencies and is universal to every situation and circumstance, be it climbing, biking, running, or just out for a walk.

    Trauma

    Go in depth into different kinds of traumatic injuries and how to treat them. From a minor scrape to a complicated fracture this sections covers how to clean, bandage, splint and keep traumatic injuries protected. 

    Medical Emergencies

    Some of the most difficult things to treat are the ones you cannot see. However, knowing some of the signs and symptoms can make a big difference in a treatment plan. This section includes heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, seizures, and more.

    Environmental  Emergencies

    The ruggedness and remoteness of the wilderness is what what makes it so alluring, but also what makes it unpredictable. You'll learn how to prevent and treat different environmental emergencies such as hypothermia, lightning strikes, snake bites, and more.

  • The content in our online program is a component of our Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, and Wilderness First Responder Refresher trainings, but does not provide a medical certification by itself.
